Haili - Punk Attitude

A shoot I arranged through Model Mayhem - my first off the site. Haili was an amazing model to work with - full of ideas, enthusiastic and basically enjoyable to work with. I still struggled a bit with the whole 'let's do this pose now' bit, but having someone who knew what they wanted like Haili did helped no end.

Astley Green Mining Museum - Location Shoot

I did a location shoot with Adaps on June 23rd 2011. I shot completely in manual mode all evening, as a test for myself really to try and move away from relying on AV mode all the time. The results were a mixed bunch, but I got a few shots I was happy with.

Ben was the model for my second group photography session with ADAPS. Having done it the one time before, I did find it slightly easier to direct him, but I still had the problem that I wasn't quite sure what I was trying to achieve all the time, so may have come across a bit wishy washy. For next time I want to go with some definite ideas - this may be difficult without having seen the model first though.

My first time in the studio with a model, Becky was a visitor to ADAPS - the photographic society of which I am a member. While I enjoyed it I must admit I find telling the model what to do does not come naturally - hopefully with practice these things will come more easily.
